While modern treatment approaches to health segregate aspects of the human experience, holistic therapies understand that each of us are multifaceted beings comprised of psychological, biological, and spiritual elements. As so, we should be treated accordingly when seeking to enhance or improve our life, health, and wellbeing.
In the context of Mental Health treatment, research such as the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study, has shown that significant negative psychological experiences can lead to a profound increase in risk for psychiatric disturbances, but also directly contributes to the development of severe physical illnesses later in life.
Energetically and spiritually speaking, chronic stress and trauma disrupt our soul, our energetic being and our truest self, which leads to physical manifestations of illness or other complications on the mind-body connective level.
Beacon Wellness uses Transpersonal Psychology (the connection between our physical self and God/the Divine) and other holistic practices, in conjunction with traditional psychotherapeutic techniques, such as Psychodynamic Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma informed care, to promote healing and alignment on all levels beginning with the mind and soul.
